The Tuckahoe Housing Authority’s Public Housing Program provides quality, affordable housing for eligible individuals, families, seniors, and persons with disabilities. The Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program helps eligible low-income families, seniors, and persons with disabilities obtain safe, decent, and affordable housing in the private rental market. Working in partnership with landlords throughout the community, the program provides rental assistance while offering participants greater flexibility in choosing a home that best meets their needs.

At the Tuckahoe Housing Authority, we are committed to administering the Housing Choice Voucher Program with professionalism, fairness, and responsiveness. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service while supporting families on their path toward long-term housing stability and success.

Applying when the lists reopen

The Authority will publish application instructions here as soon as the policy review is complete.

Deferred until policy review is complete

Application instructions, eligibility requirements, required documentation, waiting list procedures, and program-specific FAQs are intentionally deferred pending THA’s policy review. These elements may be added in the future if and when waiting lists reopen and THA has finalized those materials.

Lead paint reduction, windows and doors, paint stabilisation, smoke detectors.

Helps meet HQS inspection

Supports landlords in meeting Section 8 housing inspection requirements.

No cost to those who qualify

Inspections, project management, and eligible repairs are fully funded.
